Power & Grids

Overview

The Communications Network infrastructure of power and utilities substations and electricity distribution is of great importance. It is the backbone for operational and management technologies that increase the efficiency of the facilities and the safety of the workers through remote monitoring, diagnosis and maintenance.
The installed network infrastructure in this sector must be specifically designed for Smart Grid and Substation Automation applications. It must also be equipped with the ICE 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 standards, in addition to the zero packet loss technology to ensure reliable operation under heavy electrical surges and EMI (Electromagnetic), and within harsh and demanding environmental conditions.

Key System Requirements

• Rugged design and wide operating temperature specifically over +70 °C
• The communication devices are well-suited to interface with the various device protocols used in IEC 101 and IEC 104
• The equipment is fully compliant with IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 Standards
• Tolerance for constant vibrations and shocks
